My Students

I am a teacher in a high poverty school district. All students in my school receive free lunch. My students face challenges in and out of the classroom. We are a diverse classroom with twenty-six active and energetic students from many backgrounds. Some of my students have special needs, IEPs, and receive speech and O.T. within the school setting. There is also a wide range of academic abilities in my classroom.

Not only are my students eager to learn and always try their hardest to do their best; they deserve the best!

They love coming to school because they want to learn all they can to be successful in life. We strive daily to balance our learning goals and objectives with fun and exploration.

My Project

I am requesting a color printer. As a Kindergarten teacher, I want my students to use bright and colored materials and resources to make them engaged and motivated to learn despite the challenges we face this school year.

My students’ distance learning experience will be better with access to engaging and vibrant learning resources.

This will be possible by allowing me access to a color printer at home, because this school year we have to teach and learn remotely.

This color printer will be used to print reading materials, alphabet cards, anchor charts, worksheets, and other resources that I can send to students who are learning at home to make distance learning effective and successful. I am hoping that this project will turn into reality so I can make this year exciting for my kinder kiddos.

I want to print visuals, assignments and grades from home. I currently have a printer that the ink runs out quickly and it is expensive to replace. This printer has refillable ink that is not pricey to replace and it lasts a long time. I want to be able to print anything that will be beneficial to my students without the worry of running out of ink. These resources will be an asset to my students and I as we learn to navigate this new normal as a team.
