Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the school social worker, we often need to make and find our own resources to use as visuals for teaching and reinforcing social emotional skills. Luckily the internet offers a wide array of tools. However at the school, I am limited to printing in black and white only. My students engage so much better with colorful visuals. The visuals are used for in class coping skill prompts, social emotional lessons, worksheets, visuals for students with autism and pictures to encourage communication of needs. It is also beneficial for printing real life photos for better understanding of school and class expectations in an individualized manner.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
