My Project
I have a group of enthusiastic, diverse learners who are still learning vocabulary. Our school has a high English Language Learner population which would greatly benefit from colorful visuals and labels. Imagine reading a picture book in black and white compared to one with colors. Which one draws your attention and makes it easier to remember? A color printer and ink cartridges will allow me to access graphics and worksheets for students in order to increase comprehension and engagement. Students can make connections between pictures and their everyday lives. Studies have shown color printed materials capture attention and deliver a more enhanced learning experience. Research also shows color increases memory retention better than verbal or textual cues alone.
