Colorful Creations Kids Empowered

Help me give my students the wonderful opportunity to create artworks that reflect how they process the world. They have such enthusiasm for learning and being able to use these bright-colored paints will help their ideas become reality.

My Students

I work with 628 energetic students who love the time they spend in art class, creating, talking with friends, and solving problems. My students are a part of a Dual Immersion school. This last year with the Covid-19 pandemic has brought a lot of uncertainty to our community. The students have needed a place to process all the changes around them. The art curriculum gives them a wonderful voice to express their feelings about what they are learning in and out of the classroom.

They are excited to use art supplies!

They come to my room enthusiastic and ready to create. They are learning that mistakes and repeats lead to a growth mindset. They love to learn new ideas and collaborate on group projects. Each student sees the world in a unique way allowing for a deeper connection to their educational experience.

My Project

The students will be engaged as they use paints, inks, and bright colors for screen printing and watercolor projects. As they work to create various artworks it will allow their minds time to process what they are learning in the classroom, the playground, and in their communities. Covid-19 has changed many things yet through art class they can still create with vivid colors, work with their hands, and collaborate with classmates. As they use the new paintbrushes to create works like neurographic art, they will learn to think of a problem and solve it through their artwork.

The students are excited to work with their hands to share their view of the world with color, lines, textures, and shapes.

They have many social-emotional moments as they share art supplies, talk about their artwork, and apply classroom knowledge with the art curriculum. It becomes a kaleidoscope of learning as they engage both sides of the brain using colors and classroom knowledge.
