Colorful Composers

My students need 12 color coded bell sets at my second school to compose their own music.

My Students

To me, my classroom is an escape. It's a room where we come together to learn and make music. I try hard to decorate in bright colors and provide a space that is conducive to music making and creativity.

My kids are active and love to learn!

They absolutely love coming to music class. I teach at two schools and see over 800 children each week. Most of all, my kids love instruments! They love to create and play and try new things. Both of my schools are fabulous communities and help our children belong in a safe, educational, and creative place.

My Project

I would like 12 bell sets for my children to compose music on. These bells are color coded and can be played as one instrument or split amongst several students to be played collaboratively. With these bells, younger students will be able to compose by color as well as rhythm and melody practice. Older students will be able to collaborate as a group by each student having one bell and playing a piece together, each being responsible for his/her bell. These bells are amazing and have so much potential in our classroom.

I have used these bells before and have seen my kids' eyes light up when they figure out how to play a piece or when they create their own piece to play for the class.

They love it! Music literacy is important in it's own right, but I strive to build character and confidence through music.
