Colorful Communication: Empowering Speech Through Visuals

My Project

As a speech-language pathologist serving students in a Title I elementary school, I work with children from kindergarten through 6th grade who have a wide range of communication needs. Many of my students are non-verbal or have limited expressive language, and they rely on visual supports, communication cards, and interactive materials to participate fully in classroom activities and therapy sessions.

To make these essential tools engaging and durable, we need access to a high-quality color laser printer.

A laser printer will allow me to quickly and affordably print vibrant visuals, custom communication cards, picture schedules, and social stories that are used daily across multiple grade levels. These materials help students express their needs, follow directions, and interact with peers—skills that are crucial for both academic success and personal growth.

Right now, I print from a basic black-and-white printer or rely on limited school resources. A dedicated color printer in my speech room would save time, reduce costs, and ensure that every child receives the individualized support they deserve.

By funding this project, you’ll help students who struggle to speak find their voices through colorful, accessible, and engaging materials that truly make a difference.
