Colorful Classroom Carpet

My Students

Help us get a colorful classroom carpet! Music is an important part of any classroom. I teach 500 Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Kansas. We have no chairs and need learning spaces for our room.

A new classroom carpet would allow me to give all of my students their own place during whole group instruction.

We have most of our lessons in our meeting area on the carpet where they can stay more focused and attentive. However, we have no boundaries or chairs in our room.

My Project

This carpet is a colorful way to give each student their own comfortable space. The students will spend all of their whole group instruction time on this carpet! This is where we will sing, dance, imagine, listen to music, and move. What a fantastic way to brighten up a room! The carpet has 30 squares (5 rows of 6 squares; each row is a different color: red, yellow, green, blue, and purple). The individual squares on the carpet will provide my young learners with the boundaries that will aid in classroom management. This carpet will provide the fun, exciting space that my kids need.

Your help will ensure that my students take an active role in the learning process.

This tool will be used daily by my kindergarten and 1st grade students. Instruction will meet the needs and abilities of all students. I would love to have this learning aide to benefit not only my present students, but my future students as well.
