Colorful Carpet for Teaching Time and Independent Learning
My students need a carpet to help them understand personal space during teaching time.

My Students
My students are eager learners who need help in organizing their space. I hope that using a colorful carpet will help them know how to give each other space and can next year find seating that is just right for them.
My students love to listen to stories and to use the skills taught to them during the story later in their own reading.
Comprehension is no problem for these smart first graders! The students also are like sponges with math, specifically with addition story problems.
My Project
In our classroom we have alternative seating (no desks), so having a comfortable carpet would be great for them to sit on (or lay on) to read and complete their writing and math assignments. The students would also use the carpet for whole class direct instruction.
The project will make a difference in our classroom because it will add color, and comfort to the environment.
The children will enjoy this carpet for whole class instruction and for independent learning.
