The self- contained classroom is truly a self sufficient space within the school community. Losing access to a printer or copier is a small inconvenience to some. However, a shift in the routine of students in a 12:1:1 classroom can cause a significant disruption to student learning. Students are notably more engaged in the school work when there are vibrant visuals and materials for students to interact with.
