This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and very curious. They enjoy school and learning using all their senses. They are all learning English as a second language. My students attend school in the inner-city. The school is nestled among railroad tracks and factories. All of my students qualify for federally funded lunches. They have very limited resources yet are the most generous.

My students are thirsty for knowledge.

They love to feel like scientists. They're fascinated with the life cycle of animals and plants. They are always ready to learn and despite their short comings they always try their very best.

My Project

Life is lived in color and so should be the pictured used in class to teacher vocabulary and language. My students need a color printer to be able to print pictures file card to enhance their learning of new vocabulary words. They will also use the color printer to publish is full color their original writings including a monthly news letter to parents depicting what they are learning and why its important to them. They will also use it to help them acquire English as a second language through pictures which will help them make connections to spoken English, therefore helping them understand a lesson with more ease.
