Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low-income/high-poverty urban school district. Their experiences are limited. They are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom, with challenges including emotional trauma, a high mobility rate, and many other special needs.

Many of them are being raised in single-parent households, and 99% receive free lunch and breakfast.

My students are 70% Hispanic and 30% African-American. I have several ELL students in my class as well as special needs students. The majority of my students are far below the national and state standards in reading and math.

My Project

Please help me make posters and handouts with pizzazz. I would really love to have a color printer for my classroom, the school only provides a black and white printer.

When it comes to engaging Kindergartners through 8th graders, a color printer would make all the difference!

I would use the printer to print anchor charts and handouts, which I would laminate for use again and again. My students would be more engaged in reading directions if they came with cute, colorful graphics. My bulletin board displays would be enhanced by having access to a color printer and I will also be able to make instruction cards for my class games.
