This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I'm K4 teacher bilingual in a public school in the Southside in Milwaukee. Developmental preschool is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. Some of my students are learning to read, write, and count, while some of their classmates are learning to imitate sounds or hold pencils and crayons. My classroom has 35 students, distributed as follows, 4 and 5 years. Some students receive the service for Special Education (speech therapy, behavior, assistance in academic areas such as reading, writing math). All my students are of low economic resources.

As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to try small chunks of the day with their typically developing peers.

My classroom is about building skills to get included. The work we do in this classroom is building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day together helping to create strong bonds of trust, fun, colorful teaching based on our standards.

My Project

I have requested a color printer, laminating pouches to be able to print and laminate Spanish and English words, pictures to use during literacy, math materials, and to writing during our learning in class. The materials will help students develop early literacy skills, word fluency, comprehension skills, art work, math work, writing skills and communication skills. It will be a wonderful experience for students to show and their work in our classroom.

By using color visual work work on literacy, writing and math classes students will develop phonemic awareness, reading fluency, comprehension, writing skills, math skills and communication skills in both languages, more simple and fun visual.

That to will help the development of my students visual, cognitive and thinking skill

My students will be better prepared with the all the skills to continue in Kinder Garten.
