Color Printer can Make a Huge Difference for my Students

My students need a color printer so that they are able to see certain things in color. it is beneficial for my English Langauage Learners and Students with Disabilities to see the actual picture.

My Students

Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch. Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Brooklyn. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Russian,Uzbek and Arabic. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics.

Our students are 30 fourth graders in a Title 1 school in Brooklyn, New York.

Our students are English Language Learners. Some of them have various disabilities, such as Speech and Language, Learning Disabilities, Hearing Impairments and other Health impairments. In order to meet their learning needs and give them the best educational experiences possible and a place to call home. It is an integrated co-teaching classroom, where students with disabilities are mainstreamed with general education students. We also have English Language Learners in our room.

Our classroom this year is decorated in bright colors like pink, neongreen, purple and blue.

We are in need of a color printer and feel it will be beneficial for meeting the needs of our students visually for both ENL and Students with Special needs.

My Project

The color printer will help with my visual learners. I will use these materials to enhance my students learning with visuals and handouts in color for them. With many of my students beginner ENL and students with disabilities the color handouts and visuals will be great for their learning. Sometimes being an ENL student when you actually see the picture in color or handouts it makes learning easier to understand. It will meet the needs of my students in my classroom. Some of my students come right off the plane and enter in my classroom for the first time at the age of 10.
