My Project

My first graders are lovely and lively learners who all enjoy creating things and expressing their artistic skills and ideas! Our school budget for art supplies has been dramatically reduced, and having these supplies will allow us to work on projects with tempera paint, an art material that we no longer have easy access to.

We are studying birds local to where we live this year and students have been working on multiple drafts in order to do a scientifically accurate drawing of their bird.

It would be wonderful to have this colorful paint to work on some representations of our birds done with this colorful paint, perhaps as an end-of-year, culminating project!

Art has also proven to be a great way to include students with many differing levels of readiness and abilities to join in the work we are doing, and I hope that these art materials will help to support that inclusion!
