My Students

I teach a wonderful group of caring students with amazing capabilities and talents. Like our campus, my students are very diverse. We are comprised of English Language Learners, special education and general education students, who come from low-income and middle-class families. Despite their differences, they are like one big happy family, caring for each other.

My students love to learn and flurish when they are able to work together and have the opportunity to express themselves and show their creativity while learning.

As a teacher, I enjoy nothing more than giving my students the opportunity to demonstrate their learning through group projects such as making posters, designing bulletin boards and giving presentations. Projects like these allow my student opportunities to sharpen their leadership skills and prepare them for the 21st century.

My school is Leader in Me camps located in San Gabriel, California.

The Leader in Me is based on Stephen Covey's the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. With the Leader in Me we focus on empowering self-confidence and developing into well rounded learners and leaders.

My Project

Although mastering any subject builds a student’s confidence, something special happens when a student participates in the art, especially for those who struggle in the core subjects. We all know that children find joy in being creative and having the opportunity to express themselves through art. My students are no different. They love getting their hands dirty and exploring different mediums such as charcoal, chalks and watercolor. There is a special joy that starts to unfold when we start working on an art project. Students who may not excel in math or reading find a new sense of confidence when they see their art skills develop and hear others comment on how talented they are. By donating to our project, you will provide opportunities for my students to explore, think, experiment, and try new ideas which will allow their creativity to blossom.
