My Students

Kindergartners love color and I would love to provide a color rich world in which they can create at will! Given enough supplies they can paint, color, cut, without having to wait until my meager supplies become available to them.

There are currently twenty-one 5 - 6 year old children in my kindergarten classroom.

I would love to be able to provide an art center at each table so that each child can have easy access to the art supplies they love to use. Currently I have limited supplies and it can be frustrating to have to wait for a turn--often resulting is some children choosing other activities (usually the ones who really need the small motor stimulation).

My Project

I would love to create a mini art station at each of my four tables in the room. If each table was equipped with an organized set of scissors, crayons, and paints they would be able to create on a whim! It would encourage those who might not naturally be drawn to such activities and would provide endless opportunities for those who love art.

Kindergarten is all about color, creating, making choices, using ones' imagination, interacting with others... While the art projects in my classroom are not based solely on cutting and crayons a work station at each table would go a long way in providing age appropriate, much needed supplies for my well deserving students.
