My Students

I am so excited because this school year is off to a great start! I am enjoying my little inquisitive, curious and full of wonder faces entering my classroom daily. My goal this year is to develop my students creativity by giving them access to design and create their work. I want them to fully immerse themselves in creative and colorful illustrations that represent their unique mind and personality.

As the Great Nelson Mandela once stated "I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul".

With this in mind, I want my 32 first graders to feel loved, nurtured, comfortable in their own skin and give them every opportunity to take on their own learning. When entering a new grade, children are often shy, nervous, excited but also show a thirst for learning. They love to be around each other and take great pride in working together. They thrive when they challenge themselves. I feel very fortunate to work with them in a general education classroom. My school encourages the students to succeed and reach for the stars, as well as encouraging the staff to think outside the box.

My Project

My first graders love writing and drawing. They show their uniqueness by their colorful drawing and design. After typing their work or creating their graph, they show their creativity by adding colors to their work. They use our color printer to print their final product. However, because we ran out of toner, my students have been unable to print their work.

By donating to our project, you will allow my students to get back to their creative selves by being able to add their own special touch to their writing or when creating their bar graph in math class and print their work.

My first graders will continue to shine bright and reach for the stars because of you!
