Help me give my students access to material at home by helping me with a printer that will make printing easier, quicker so that I can mail material to my students as we begin school online.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Its not that we use technology, we live technology! More now than ever we are in need of more technology to keep up with daily tasks.
My students attend a low-income school in an urban setting.
Approximately 700 students attend the elementary school where I teach. Many of them come from low-income, single family homes. This year I will be reaching out to K-2 students and some of them have learning disabilities. But, regardless of their limitations they have one thing in mind, and that is to be successful readers. My students are very hard working, and they try their very best every day! It would be wonderful for my students to have more access to materials and with distance learning I will be printing alot of the material for them. A printer where I can print quickly can make a big difference as I prep my lessons at home and mail material to my students. My students deserve to continue learning regardless of how different the setting might be this year.
My Project
This year will be a lot different, but that doesn't mean that our students should miss out on any learning. I plan to continue my lessons the way I would in my classroom, but with distance learning I will need some support from technology. Having a color printer can make a world of difference in my lessons. I plan on printing lessons, worksheets, booklets, packets, newsletters among other things and having them ready for my students as we navigate this journey of distance learning together. This year will have its challenges, but giving my students the materials they need will not be one!
