My Students
The world is not always black and white for students of ages 3 and 4. We need to give our Pre-K classroom school a splash of color!
My Pre-K students come in eager to learn, with a wide range of abilities, and on the most part, are visual learners.
Our class is in a Title I school, with a large concentration of low income families. Most of my students qualify to receive free lunch and extra support from our community school.
My Project
My students are having their first experience with learning. They need to build concepts based in real-life connections. The real world is full of color, but our classrooms materials are black and white. This color printer and the ink will help my pre-readers, non-English speakers connect to their environment to grasp concepts easily.
Most of my students live in non-English speaking households.
In addition, our families are not able to afford books with colorful text and vivid images. The learning gap is a reality in my students' lives, and we need to build a print rich environment to build their reading comprehension and vocabulary knowledge.
