This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am part of the Head Start Program, which provides services to families with low socioeconomic status. These families and students are low-income and predominantly receive free or reduced-price lunch. With that being said, my students have very few resources to explore their surroundings. These children are always curious when something new is being brought into the classroom. At such a young age, they need to be exposed to so many different aspects of life, which they can pursue in the future.

My Project

When the pandemic began the first thing that came to mind was how can I reach all of my students. Then it hit me providing them with dry erase boards and dry erase markers will help us do virtual learning through a camera as well as used in the classroom once we reach phase two.

With all that is going on in the pandemic bringing a little joy to my children means the world.

Being able to provide children these arts and craft card stock for projects at home and at schools. We will also use the Kleenex and hand sanitizer in the classroom on a daily basis once we come back.
