My Project

Coloring and drawing is both reflective and meditative. My students love creating colorful art showcasing their knowledge. My students attend an inner-city school whose student body is diverse, both academically and socioeconomically. My classes have high percentages of both English Language Learners and Special Education students.

When children have good art supplies they place more pride in their work and projects.

For many of my students, school poses difficulty because of their ongoing language acquisition. Others struggle instead with reading deficits, processing issues, and lack of recall. My students love to do assignments that include doodle notes, color-by-numbers, and one-pagers. Resources that allow students to end up creating a piece of art while learning are engaging and captivating. Color adds creativity and sparkle to normally boring-looking worksheets! Please help me be able to supply classroom sets of high-quality colored pencils, markers, and glue, which a majority of my students could not afford to purchase on their own.
