Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students in the Special Education program needs extra resources to gain access to learning. These students will struggle with the transition from distance learning to in-person learning. They will need an environment that helps ease them through the transition.
The 2021-2022 school year will need a focus on healing and mental health and I hope to provide students the correct tools to address these skills.
The 2020-2021 school year has been very trying and required students to be resilient and persevering through uncertainty. With these tools and your support, students can begin to shift from their fight or flight mode, to one of more balance and begin the process of mindful healing.
My Project
The coloring caddies have everything each student would need to engage in mindful coloring or doodling. It allows each student to have their own set without having share or to use at home if they need to be in distance learning. The coloring books can be used as inspiration or students can color on their own copy.
Coloring and Doodling are an effective way for students to stay focused in class and a good relaxation technique for students to calm themselves, as needed.
Since these times are unpredictable and students may need to have their own sets of art supplies and coloring pages, the printer/copier would be useful to help extend the life of coloring pages. The scanner function would allow students to share their versions of coloring pages.
