Interactive notebooks are essential to successful student learning in our classroom every single day.
Interactive notebooks truly are just that INTERACTIVE!
They don’t just have lines for structured notes as traditional notebooks do, but they also have blank pages as a hands on creative space for pasting or drawing diagrams, concept maps, graphic organizers, paper foldable’s and pictures.
These notebooks are at the crux of helping my students to organize information, as a reference to recall information and to continually process learned information through highlighting, color coding and annotating. Visuals and tactile interactions differentiate content in the classroom appealing to a variety of learners. I have found these notebooks to be highly effective for student success in science and with inflation the cost of basic supplies like markers, highlighters and pencils have skyrocketed. If funded these supplies are guaranteed to be utilized, thank you!
