My Project

We need to create personalized, visually appealing resources tailored to each student's individual goals. A color printer and toner would enable us to develop customized visual aids. Many students, especially our bilingual students and students with special needs, benefit from colored visual supports, such as picture schedules, articulation cards, and vocabulary visuals. Color makes these materials clearer and more engaging, improving comprehension and retention. Colored resources can also be used to support take-home resources. A color printer would also allow us to produce attractive, durable materials that families can use at home.

Our core values of academics, community, pride, and justice allow us to advocate for all within this urban neighborhood by extending compassion and partnering with families to nurture lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens through STEM/STEAM, performing arts, visual arts, athletics, coding, computer science (CS), financial literacy, and mental health/social-emotional learning (SEL). We receive federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast/lunch for every student and Title I services to economically disadvantaged individuals. Our inclusive class serves military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, special education students, and tech-savvy students. Our staff is diverse with an increase of male educators and HBCU alum, including myself.
