Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a public school in Oakland, California. Our school is 95% free and reduced-price lunch. Our students and their families speak many different languages and come from all over the world.
My students are full of excitement and wonder.
They love to ask questions and figure things out. My students work well together and help one another throughout the school day. We have created a warm and loving school environment that encourages all of our students to give their best effort. We celebrate successes and learn from our mistakes.
My Project
The crayons and markers in this project will allow our students to add color to their school work that they are doing at home. These supplies will let our students color and create at home. They will be able to color their diagrams, create art projects and express themselves through their work.
Crayons and markers are something we take for granted when we are in the building.
Students are missing these materials during this time of distance learning. This project will bring smiles to their faces and joy to their hearts!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
