Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an amazing group of young ladies and gentlemen that have grown since our band director added auxiliary last year. Our color guard program had many gap years along the way, so we do not have equipment beyond some poles and basic flags.
My group has come so far with their flag spinning, it is time for them to grow by learning how to work with new equipment.
The air blades and rifles will allow my group to learn a new aspect of guard that can help them succeed in programs beyond high school. Handling air blades and rifles are a basic skill expectation in college level guards, putting this equipment in their hands can lead to paths they wouldn't be able to follow due to our program's limitation.
