This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My color guard group has grown from four students to 13 in just one seasons, as a coach I couldn't be happier. I am expecting a larger group for next year but our equipment can't keep up with our growth. The limited equipment we do have decades old and shows.

We have revitalized the color guard program and now it's time to revitalize our equipment and improve our skills.

Although we are an award-winning group, judge's comments constantly included the lack of elements (equipment) in our routine. They will be looking for these missing elements next year, so we have to be prepared. My team will use the flags for practices so we can learn new moves without having to worry about snagging show flags. The rifles are a new element for my team, having them will help they grow their spinning and performance skills. My current group would love to go beyond marching season and start a winter guard program, this equipment will help them reach their goal.
