This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school, a school with a high percentage of students from low-income families. Additionally, our school has a large population of ELLs (English language learners), which means they are trying to learn the English language while also attempting to meet the expectations of the Colorado Standards set for all high school students across the state, regardless of background.

The colored printer would bring enrichment into the classroom of our English Language Learners.

With the color printer we would be able to make worksheets that would help our students learn English and be more successful. Also our CLDE teachers are putting on a culture event in April and would need color pictures printed for the presentations.

Due to low-income backgrounds, most of our students have not been exposed to many of the experiences that are often taken for granted by the general population.

Students spend most of their time learning reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and life skills. Each day is a challenge, and we do our best to meet the needs of our students. School is often their happy place, where they grow and learn in a safe, comfortable, healthy, and understanding environment.

My Project

The Epson Ecotank printer will be able to help our 4 CLDE teachers print color worksheets out for our students. By printing the worksheets the teachers can help the students learn English more effectivly and to prepare them for the ACCESS test. Students need to be able to describe items and pictures in detail. It is hard to describe a black and white picture in detail.

Our CLDE teachers and students are putting on a Multi Cuture night in April and the students will be creating posters about the country they are from.

The posters need to be in color. The printer and ink will help them create fantastic posters to showcase their country and region.
