Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students rock. They are kind and considerate, take responsibility for themselves, and are always eager to lend a hand. They are so curious about the world around them, and are constantly asking questions. They soak up knowledge like a sponge. Whenever I speak, I watch 24 pairs of eyes stare me down, their ears open ready to learn.
All of my students are English Language Learners; most of their parents (and some of my students) were born in other countries!
Having a language barrier hasn't slowed my students down! They are all strong, tough, and independent- and are ready to take on the world (or at least third grade)!
My Project
This project will make a huge difference in my students learning. The colored paper and cardstock will be used to make materials for centers, so that when students go to centers they know to look for materials such as task cards, activities, and readers theater in the color that goes with their group. Differentiation made colorful! This project will also help to organize our classroom by introducing new shelves to organize classroom laptops and materials for centers. Additionally, this project will provide new and exciting learning materials as well as new books for our classroom library.
My students love learning through centers.
It gives them an opportunity to be more hands-on in their learning, collaborate with peers, and receive instruction that is more individualized for them.
