Colonialism, Globalization, and Relevancy in Literature
My students need a class set of "Things fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe; for Freshman Literature class.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. S.'s classroom raised $302

I teach 9th grade composition and literature at a small high school on Rosebud Reservation. The population is 100% Native American.
The only reading material I'm supplied with is a literature text book for 9th grade English. I want the students to experience reading a novel together. I believe that "Things Fall Apart" will be an excellent book to read and discuss colonialism with my students.
To do this I need enough copies of the book for each student to read in class. My school administration feels that the text book should be enough reading material, or that I can make photocopies of any novels I want to read. In my experience students have not reacted well to having to read big packets of photocopied books!
Help me make literature exciting and not just something bound up in a big boring text book!
