it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The little things many of us take for granted are the big things that my students desire in their pursuit for academic achievement.
Many of the students I serve come from economically disadvantaged households.
They are truly engaged and dedicated individuals with a determination to overcome any and all challenges they face on a daily basis. Our students make every effort to uphold the vision and mission of their high school. They understand that although, different culturally, they share the same goals that many of our students have...pursuing higher education. These students attend a public comprehensive Charter High School. While they have all the opportunity to be successful, they lack many of the resources needed to reach their full potential and desired goals.
My Project
By providing a high quality printer for students to use, students will feel more confident in submitting supplemental forms to the colleges/ university to which they are applying. In addition, students will have the opportunity to print their professional resumes and scholarship applications. The printer I am requesting will provide students with a sense of entitlement because it will be for their use only as it relates to the "college-going-culture" that they have work so hard to create on campus.
My students are truly dedicated and engaged in the work they produce.
They spend many hours in writing and perfecting their work. A donation of this magnitude will ensure that they are submitting quality work. They will no longer have to go to Kinko's or any other printing shop to print the work that they can easily print at their school site so long as they are provided with the proper tools.
