My students need current college and career readiness books and inviting ELL and Special Ed books to refresh important sections of our well-used library.

My Students

Our high school is home to some of the most driven, appreciative, and inspiring students around. Almost 2100 students attend our high school, established in 1976. Our kids come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. At Reed, you'll see that we have a terrific program supporting autistic folks and those with other special needs and abilities, an ELL program, robust AP and honors classes, and dedicated athletes. It's an honor to be their librarian, attempting to bring books and technology that will further inspire and support these kids. Come check out one of our stellar musicals and cheer on our teams--you won't regret it!

My Project

Much of our collection is out-of-date for the needs of our student population. We're hoping to grow two collections, college and career development and ELL support. For the college and career section, we're focusing on test prep for admissions and AP tests, and for the ELL students, we're seeking classic and contemporary picture and graphic novel titles.

We love to support our high school second language learners in finding relevant, challenging books and to support our college-bound students in achieving high scores on the tests that will take them into college and down great career paths and into brighter futures.
