Collectively Creating Literature Memories With Classmates
Help me give my students novels.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
West Prep is located in North Las Vegas. North Las Vegas was a segregated part of Vegas up until the 1970's. Today, the student body is diverse, but their is a lot of economic disparity. Although our school is down the street from a local county library, students do not have access to books due to late fees or are not allowed to utilize library because of behavioral infractions.
Additionally, because reading levels are low, classroom sets provide a great opportunity to read with classmates and navigate the literature collectively.
My Project
Students will learn to read collaboratively which they have lost due to COVID. The novels will increase the student's knowledge in the majority of the RL and RI Academic State Standards.
