My students are social, energetic, and curious third graders. They love to learn new things and build relationships with their friends. My students come from various backgrounds and cultures. I teach in a school with a diverse population of approximately 600 students. Out of the 600 students approximately 46% of the students are White/Caucasian, 40% are Black/African American, 12% are Hispanic/ Latino, and 2% other. A lot of the students in our school also come from low-income households. We strive to create an environment where students feel loved and respected. We teach our students life skills and character traits that they will need to be respectful and responsible students and human beings.
The purpose of my project is to give my students seating options where they can collaborate with each other.
Round tables will allow us to sit, work, and learn together. Collaboration builds community, and that is what we strive for in our classroom. Thank you for any assistance that you can give in helping us reach our goal!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
