Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this project I wanted to focus on acquiring resources and materials that would support my students' comfort and academic success in the classroom. The post-it-notes, poster paper, and markers will be used to create whole group charts as well as anchor charts to hang up around the classroom. My students are encouraged to look around our room at the different resources we have created in order to retain and use the different lessons we have worked on throughout the year. These posters are primarily helpful with writing assignments where my students are expected to use evidence from their learning in their assignments.

The stools would be a really special gift for my students.

This would provide them with flexible seating providing comfort, community, and committed learning. This type of seating will encourage my students to share and engage with their peers in a different way than they normally do when sitting at their desks. For my neurodivergent friends this type of seating with offer a different type of stimulation than they are used to with the desk seating. This can be very helpful to keep my neurodivergent students engaged and committed to the activity they are completing. These chairs will be used in small group stations, primarily at the independent work station.

The printer would help my classroom run a lot more smoothly with immediate access to making copies and printing different resources that my students may need throughout the day. I would be able to print worksheets and TPT supplies to support my students learning. The resources I can use more than once will be laminated using the lamination sheets. This will allow me to take good care of TPT posters and resources so I am not reprinting things in order to save on classroom and environmental resources.
