My Students
My classroom consists of twenty enthusiastic and inquisitive young learners with active imaginations and kind hearts. Some of the children are English language learners while encountering their first classroom setting. I work in partnership with my assistant teacher to create a safe, supportive environment for my students, focusing on literacy and language development.
Together, we set the foundation for learning through small group literacy, art, mathematics, and science activities, while balancing the school day with social-emotional problem-solving and self-help practices.
Our activities also promote kinetic movement for active learners as well as whole child, free-choice centers.
My Project
We are looking forward to a new preschool year! We are hoping to add, replace and rotate some new materials into our classroom centers---math and manipulatives, science, and blocks. Center time is a collaborative and hands on part of our day. The children engage with one another, share ideas, and purposefully develop play plans.
A new train set, kinetic dominoes, bucket balance and alphabet materials will enhance our centers and provide purposeful ways for the children to learn during small group and free choice play.
Our preschoolers will have better opportunities to interact meaningfully and further develop their learning and interests.
