My Project
I am the dance department head at an arts high school in Colorado Springs. We create many dance pieces throughout the year and one of the students favorite things is to share their hard work with others.
I want the students to be able to share their creativity with students all over the world.
We used to have a school bus/van, but since COVID the school has gotten rid of it. The district has a shortage of school busses available to rent for outside of school events. We used to try to go out into the community at least once a month to share dances and learning.
In this new, technological world the best way for the students to be able to share their work is with technology. Having an ipad mini and seperate speaker to play music from (so that the ipad can be used for streaming and video calls with the music simultaneously) would allow the students to share their work in real time with other schools and places, not only in our community but all over the world. They could also view work from others using this technology. The ipad would allow the students to access google video/meet, facetime, and other apps to share their work in real time. The recording feature would allow them to share their work through alternate apps non-synchronously.
Not only would the students now be able to share their learning with the Colorado Springs community but they would learn with and from students from other states and countries. This would diversify their learning experience exponentially.
Our students are passionate and fueled by getting to perform for others. I want to provide more ways for them to do just that!
