Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Through this project I am hoping to add more flexible seating options into my classroom, a cozy reading corner, basic classroom supplies, as well as inviting and inclusive wall art for the 23-24 year.
Adding more nontraditional seating in the classroom supports and encourages collaborative group work, friendship, and classroom community, allowing students to work on their problem-solving skill, communication, social-emotional learning, and academic self-confidence!
Additionally, I hope to create a reading corner with a cozy rug, books, and alternative lighting. I hope to create a designated space in the classroom where students feel invited, encouraged, and empowered to work on important reading skills.
Lastly, I want to ensure that my students have the classroom organization and supplies to excel academically, developmentally, and behaviorally. I am looking to get each student a folder to keep their work organized, a laminator, and white board magnets to help organize the classroom.
