Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 4th graders are passionate about learning. The Reader's and Writer's Workshop model involves lessons in an intimate setting so students can focus and sit knee to knee and share in their thought processes.
A classroom rug would be a community meeting place that would foster learning and engagement in a purposeful way.
Students are very enthused about this project and would love a place to receive the daily teaching point and share their writing together. Students will be inspired as they are sent off to their reading and writing stations from the rug, while those that need more help will stay and see modeled examples and strategies for getting started.
