it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 8th grade students are eager to do science investigations and to collaborate. Students learn best while actively engaged with materials and with each other. They currently sit in individual desks, pushed together to make a table. However, the desks vary a little in height and don't make a smooth surface. To do some of our investigations, we need that flat surface. So, I have had to borrow folding tables to set up to have enough solid surface to conduct the investigations. Individual desks are also prohibitive to students sitting close enough to look at artifacts.
Tables will allow my students to gather around for collaboration and provide the flat, even surface needed for our investigations.
I have requested some taller tables with stools, which students are excited about. Excitement leads to more engagement and increased learning. Tables will make a huge difference in my classroom.
