My Students

Remember sitting in hard desks as you learned? What if your classroom could be more like a coffee shop?

My students are 9th through 12th grade science and technology explorers.

My students attend school in a small, rural area. Most of my students are sons and daughters of ranchers. They are hardworking, dedicated, and curious about the world around them. They love enhancing their learning with new technology and experiencing the newest technology trends. They are fairly tech savvy as they are 1:1 with laptops and do science in a blended-gamified learning environment.

My Project

Our classroom is far from traditional. Students work in a 1:1 blended learning environment. They move through the curriculum at their own pace and work towards mastery before moving on. Since our classroom routine is non-traditional, having tables and desks seems far from the environment students should be learning in. With the incorporation of nontraditional seating, like tractor chairs and swivel backed chairs, the students' environment will begin to match the learning style of our classroom.

Donations to our classroom project would allow our environment to match how students' learn in the classroom.

It would get us closer to achieving a learning environment that closely resembles a coffee shop. Nontraditional seating, like with tractor and swivel chairs, will help motivate students to come to class, as well as learn the material while in comfort.
