My Students

My students are 21st-century learners. Technology in the classroom is a way to increase engagement and motivation for my students. They soak up information like a sponge.

I teach first graders who are excited about learning.

They love to use iPads and technology in the classroom. They think they are playing games when they are really practicing literacy and mathematical skills needed to be successful.

My school is a low economic school where students do not have access to technology we can provide at school. Providing them with the opportunity to create and practice skills using technology will prepare them for future experiences. Technology is part of their world and they need to know how to use it and school is the only place most of them get the experience they need to be successful in the 21st century.

My Project

The OSMO coding will be a fun way to integrate coding into the classroom. The students will be motivated with these fun coding games to increase their skills and understanding of coding. It will be hands-on learning that will prepare them for a technology-driven world they live in. The students will have fun coding the games and also music. The other OSMO activities will increase their reading and math skills. They will be working with words and math problems that will challenge them while keeping them engaged and on task. The OSMO will be a great addition to the classroom that all students will learn, grow, and benefit from.
