My Students

My students are an amazing group of third graders. They are enthusiastic about school and embrace everything we do in class. They love reading, P.E., math, and science. Our school is a kindergarten through eighth-grade school located in rural California. It houses 450 students. Our school is surrounded by forests and mountains and has daily visitors such as geese, turkeys, and deer.

My school had a fire on January 26.

I lost my entire classroom to smoke damage. The materials requested in this project are to help my students and I rebuild our classroom and supplies.

My Project

My students need a Lego Boost Toolkit, an OSMO Starter coding kit, an iPad and iPad case. Students will the use the materials for STEM investigations and coding.

Last year my school had a fire and I lost my entire classroom.

I had robots and iPads that my students used to code. The materials I am requesting are to start replacing those materials.

This year I am the GATE coordinator. Our GATE classes are run as an extracurricular program. I have scheduled someone to visit our school to teach a GATE class using rockets and drones. I would like to follow up this class and teach the students to code using the Lego robot, OSMO kit and iPad. STEM is the theme this year for our GATE classes, and the robot, OSMO kit and iPad will be a perfect addition to our STEM investigations.

The project was inspired by the First Lego League project from the Science Everywhere Innovation Challenge.
