Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard-working, inquisitive second-language learners who come from families where Spanish is the primary language. They are taught in a bilingual setting so they can then transfer their academic skills and strategies to learning English Language Arts.

As research has shown, being bilingual is an asset to students, and these students work very hard to make sure they keep their native language while succeeding in English, also.

Students not only learn Spanish language arts, but also English language development, and English language arts.

They are curious, inquisitive, and smart. However, many come from families where their parents did not get a high school education or even speak English, which makes their progress in our educational system harder than for those who come from more privileged backgrounds.

My Project

Children are born problem solvers. Their creativity, curiosity, and love of learning are awakened when engineering and coding are part of the solution. These little Bits kits will help me ensure that my students have access to materials that help bring out their natural curiosity and creativity. By having my students learn coding and its application, they will be preparing for their academics and careers in the future. I’ve researched ways to get children more interested in learning, and the integration of science, teach, and engineering, is one of the most effective strategies, which also helps prepare them for a bright and constructive future.
