Our district has a commitment to provide computer science fundamentals in every grade from Transitional Kindergarten to 12th grade. Unfortunately, we are also facing a major budget deficit, and this plan is not fully funded. Classrooms don't have the fundamentals they need to support computer science.
I am asking for an iPad so that my students can engage in fun, simple coding activities.
These activities have hands-on components and require partnership and discussion, so students build all kinds of skills as they practice. Students practice algorithmic thinking, checking and debugging their work, debating possible solutions, and trying new ideas. These are key habits of mind for students, and with your support we can build them every day.
