Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second-grade students are very smart little kids in a Dual Language program. They are special because they are learning both English and Spanish in the Dual Language program. They are learning conversational language and academics in both languages. Dual language is about bilingualism, biliteracy, and diversity.

They are eager for knowledge and always looking towards their next achievement.

The children are diverse learners and come from different backgrounds and are eager to share their culture and learn about each other. They appreciate their differences while becoming a classroom community.

My Project

My students need social-emotional skills to be successful at school, and home. These skills help children build confidence, understand their own strengths and weaknesses, collaborate with others, navigate social situations, develop strong relationships, and be able to make better decisions. These skills are critical for all learners.

Coding helps students develop self-awareness as they work through the challenges of coding and they develop more confidence as self-directed learners.

Coding also promotes collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving, and socio-emotional skills. Coding also increases student engagement and advances student learning.

Having a positive learning environment encourages children to do their best and be their best daily. Social-Emotional learning is so important in today's world. These materials support a school environment that is safe and fun!
