Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My science students are love to complete hands-on activities. It is when I see them shine and engage with the material the most. Anytime they can work on a hands-on activity, they are always super excited and learn so much.

My students love being creative and attempting to find answers themselves.

This is the main focus of STEAM education. They would love to code and see their coding come to life through robotics and things like micro:bits.

My Project

These materials will be used for my students to learn how to code and be able to see their coding come to life in front of their eyes. These materials will be used once a week in each of my classes.

Each of these materials will help my students develop skills in coding.

First, the students will use the micro:bits to learn how to code and how to transfer their code to an outside device. Next, they will use the lego robot to make more advanced code and have the bot do multiple things at a time. They will also use the k'nex to learn about simple machines and apply that knowledge to their coding.
