My Project

My 5th and 6th grade students are growing into tomorrow’s innovators through an exciting, hands-on curriculum that brings computer science and technology education to life. This project will provide essential tools to enhance our robotics and drone program, helping students develop critical skills in coding, problem-solving, and collaboration while exceeding local, national, and global technology standards.

In our Mars Rover Sensory Challenge, students simulate conditions on other planets by coding sensors to detect and react to light, distance, and surface textures—mirroring how NASA rovers explore Mars.

Using these Sphero robots, students will apply block-based coding to complete maze challenges that require logic, sequencing, and debugging—similar to the way autonomous vehicles navigate city streets. Then, with programmable drones, students design and fly through obstacle courses, connecting their flight paths to real-world uses like aerial delivery systems, emergency response, and environmental monitoring.

These hands-on lessons not only spark creativity and curiosity but also give students a foundation in the technologies shaping our world—from self-driving cars to space exploration. Your support will ensure all students have access to modern, engaging learning tools that prepare them to lead in a rapidly evolving tech-driven future.
