My Students

We are a group of hard-working first graders in Franklin, TN! First grade is such a fun grade to teach. They are very eager to learn and so excited to start reading! My school is a Title I school where over 50% of the kids receive free or reduced-price lunch. These kids come from very diverse homes and many of them are English Language Learners.

I am looking forward to a great year with a group of first graders who are so eager to learn and who I can help develop a love for school.

The students who will directly benefit from this project are six and seven-year-old kids who are very eager to learn and be successful.

My Project

I am requesting 2 Code & Go Robot Mouse sets, STEM Activity Sets, along with 2 of the math STEM sets for students to enhance their learning through STEM. This will allow my students to work on coding in this digital age. I want to give my students opportunities where they can work together, problem solve, and think critically as they make the path to get the robotic mouse thru the maze.

Coding can start as young as kindergarten.

I have found that by incorporating more critical thinking and stem activities into my classroom, my students’ social skills and ability to work together are improving by leaps and bounds. I can hear them talking out solutions, asking questions and really listening and working together. The Code and Go Mouse sets will allow my students to build on these important skills and gain more experience with coding and programming along the way.
