This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students have access to a co-taught space, meaning that for multiple periods a day there are two teachers in my classroom: myself and a special education teacher. This model allows for all students, especially students with specialized learning needs, to have access to critical content knowledge through multiple avenues and lenses.
Having technology in our classroom for the teacher who is modeling notes and activities will allow students to access learning supports both live in class and on demand at home.
Teachers can take visual notes on the iPad that can be quickly and easily shared with students who need them. Additionally, the iPad can be used to record critical lessons that can be posted and shared with students who were absent or need to review the content.
The push lights will allow students to communicate with the teachers about their needs. For example, the teacher can say to push the light if you have a question or when you are finished. This allows the teacher to monitor the student's progress and support them as needed.
